Enhanced Wear Resistance and Lower Replacement Expenses for Rotor Blades

Rotor blade is mainly used for crushing hot sinter at 700~800℃ at the end of sintering machine. In order to extend the service life of single tooth roller, our company has chosen the method of reforming the metal composition at the worn part of single tooth roller. Chromium carbide overlay composite surface is adopted, and wear-resistant materials are added to the wear-resistant parts. The wear resistant alloy is welded in the worn part by surfacing repair.

In industrial applications, Rotor Blades are often subject to severe wear and tear due to the harsh operating conditions. One common solution to address this issue is to repair the worn parts through chromium carbide hardfacing.

Chromium carbide hardfacing involves depositing a layer of chromium carbide onto the surface of the worn part through a welding process. This layer of hard material significantly improves the wear resistance of the part, prolonging its service life and reducing the need for frequent replacements.

After undergoing chromium carbide hardfacing, the Rotor Blades in our case study exhibited a remarkable improvement in wear resistance. The repaired part was able to withstand the abrasive forces and high temperatures encountered during operation, leading to a significant reduction in wear and tear.

As a result, the need for frequent replacements of the Rotor Blades was greatly reduced, saving both time and money for the industrial plant. The repair process was also cost-effective compared to purchasing a new part, making it a practical solution for extending the service life of worn components.

In conclusion, the application of chromium carbide hardfacing on the Rotor Blades proved to be an effective method for improving wear resistance and reducing replacement costs. This repair technique offers a sustainable and economical solution for addressing wear issues in industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity in challenging operating conditions.
